Haiiii hello book nerds! I can’t believe I am already 20!! OMG I finally left my teenage years and I feel so sad and feel old…. To be honest, I still feel like I am sixteen. If I can go back, I really want to be twelve years old again. *sobs*
Anyway, I stumbled upon this tag from Kalina and since today is my birthday, I want to do it hihi. And also, I’ll be updating it every year on my birthday (don’t believe me, it’s just empty words lol).
a book with a plot that seems cliché you adore it anyway
This book is really cliché with the love-triangle and that friends-become-enemies. But despite all the cliché-ness, it’s actually cute. The diner, the cupcakes, the winter… I love it. Not to mention that this book is the first book I own.
your most anticipated book release this year
Righttttt. So, I was very ecstatic about The Weight of Our Sky because the story is about my homeland. The tragic event in our history. It’s very rare to see my country’s history told in book by a Malaysian author itself AND made it to the publishing house. So, after I finally read this book, one of my most anticipated read this year is also We Hunt the Flame! I haven’t gotten the chance to get it but I think I will soon! ~yay~
a book that surprised you with how much you loved it
OH MY GOSH.
This one, guys. This one. I was very sure I’m going to love this book but I didn’t think I would love it that much. It just… surprised me. Can I say this is my all-time-favorite now? asdfghjklsjsjs I can’t wait for the sequel!!! *screams into the void* Oh right, you can read my review here to see why I like this book so much.
The Happy Birthday Song
a book that certainly deserved all the hype it got
I actually cried reading this book!! Why did it have to end like that?!
a book with some very beautiful and truly memorable quotes
I quoted so much from this book because I can relate so much with it. I just wish that I have this cover edition instead of the blue one. I didn’t know why I bought the blue cover instead of this. smh
a book that you read a long time ago, but you think that you would appreciate it more if you read it as more mature reader
I read this when I was 13. That time I was still bad in English and couldn’t understand some words so when I read this book, I didn’t really understand. But I knew it was a good book. I wanted to read this book again but my TBR just keep coming to me so it’s kind of hard to reread it. xD
Sweet Birthday Memories
a book that kept you incredibly happy during a sad or demanding period of your life
Of all books I’ve read, this one always makes me happy. I’m not sure whether because the nostalgia of it being the first book I own or because it’s sweet and cute? I don’t know but it does make me happy.
So tell me, if you can go back in time, what age would you go back to? Or do you want to just stay at your age right now? Or maybe, just maybe, you want to get older than you are?
